ABOUT
BRIAN MOORE
Brian Moore was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who dedicated his life to his family and preserving their heritage. Born in 1947, Brian cherished his role as a proud husband to Donna Moore and a father to their four children: Erin, Heather, Adam, and Shawn. With the arrival of seven grandchildren, his joy knew no bounds.
One of Brian's favorite pastimes was updating the family tree, meticulously researching and documenting the lineage of his ancestors. Family vacations were never complete without stops to areas where their forefathers once lived, as Brian would double-check information and connect with their roots. He instilled in his children and grandchildren the importance of family and the value of understanding their heritage.
Brian was a devoted father who went above and beyond for his kids. He loved to lend a helping hand whenever possible, ensuring their happiness and success. Spending time with his grandchildren brought him immense joy, as he created precious memories with them and shared stories of their family's past.
Despite not having had the opportunity to learn about his own Métis culture, Brian's connection to his heritage ran deep within him. His outlook on life often aligned with the principles of The Seventh Generation. This ancient Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) philosophy is based on the belief that the decisions we make today should have a positive and sustainable impact on the world for seven generations into the future.
Sadly, Brian Moore passed away in June 2023 at the age of 75. As a family, we carry his legacy forward with the intention of honoring his memory and continuing the important work he started. It is our shared goal to update and expand upon the family tree he so lovingly cultivated, ensuring that future generations will remain connected to their heritage and the values Brian held dear.
